If you remember the last Photographer vs Photographer challenge, I won with the most votes (thank you!!!) for my Goodwill steampunk/victorian look made by $20 worth of thriftstore clothes. Thrift Store Challenge Which meant I had the honor of choosing the next challenge, while Melissa sent a little gift to one of the voters. Ergo, I present to you... The Movie Challenge This was my hint for what kind of shoot I was doing...I thought I was pretty clever. Picked this up at the dollar store. This is me, wearing a tiara and snapping selfies next to the dollar store. I'll do that for art. But get it? Tiara? Princess??? So yes, this is what I had chosen for my favorite movie: The Princess Bride. I love it. Muah. Needed a Westley and a Buttercup. My son, Anthony, and a senior girl from a fellow homeschooling family, Sarah (see earlier post). Westley? Check. Buttercup? Check. Decided to go with Buttercup-in-the-red-dress. I bought th
Often I go on-location for sessions, but during the winter & early spring the weather and scenery are a bit unpredictable. I like to make the most of what I have, and what I currently have is a kitchen with beautiful light this time of year. What I also had this past week was a shoot with this beautiful senior girl Who brought the most beautiful dresses and jewelry! I die! She also brought her younger sister, whose help I enlisted a few times Gotta love that awesome shirt! Enjoyed photographing this sweet girl, and we've got a fun shoot coming up in the near future. Let me put it this way: have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? Morons! (Hint^.)
I've had these two cuties in front of the camera before This one was much smaller then He's the big 6-months-old now! That hair, those eyes... and those lips... I'm dying! Love how these two interacted So much sweetness! *heart* Always great to see families again and watch these little ones grow! It happens so fast!
Sarah's note: As I continue pursuing the art of portraiture, images of some beautiful, amazing local women will be pop up here with more frequency. The best part, for me, is getting to know these women a little bit. During the hour or two that we shoot, I get a little glimpse into who they are. And they are all simply fascinating. Name: Lisa I am : I am grateful Something that makes me happy : Spending time with family and friends makes me happy along with coffee and the beach! Someone in my life who has helped me along the way: Lots of people have helped me along the way with great advice. I am going to go with my Grandma though on this one: Kids will be kids and they need some spunk to survive in the world. Life is always better with a full cookie jar and being judgmental towards others isn't going to change anything. Advice I'd give to a young person : Be yourself. Life is too short to worry about what others think.
